About Journal

Review of World Economics is a quarterly journal. Under the name of Weltwirtschaftliches Archiv, it was founded in 1913 as the world's first journal with a focus on international economics. The special emphasis is on empirical studies in international economics. Areas of interest include trade and trade policies, international factor movements and international business, international finance, currency systems and exchange rates, monetary and fiscal policies in open economies, economic development, technological change and growth. Renowned scholars from all over the world have contributed to the journal in recent years.

Manuscripts should be submitted in Word.

·         Use a normal, plain font (e.g., 10-point Times Roman) for text.

·         Use italics for emphasis.

·         Use the automatic page numbering function to number the pages.

·         Use tab stops or other commands for indents, not the space bar.

·         Use the table function, not spreadsheets, to make tables.

·         Use the equation editor or MathType for equations.

·         Save your file in docx format (Word 2007 or higher) or doc format (older Word versions).

·         Manuscripts with mathematical content can also be submitted in LaTeX

General Guidelines for Authors

The journals language is English. British English or American English spelling and terminology may be used, but either one should be followed consistently throughout the article. Manuscripts should be printed or typewritten on A4 or US Letter bond paper, one side only, leaving one inch margins on all sides. Please double−space all material, including notes and references. Quotations of more than 40 words should be set off clearly, either by indenting the left−hand margin or by using a smaller typeface. Use double quotation marks for direct quotations and single quotation marks for quotations within quotations and for words or phrases used in a special sense.

Since 1852, De Economist, until 2010 has provided an outlet for high quality research in economics. It reflects studies dealing with theoretical issues as well as applied work, preferably with a European flavour. Surveys of current research are also initiated and published with some regularity. General Guidelines for Authors

Papers should use 10 or 12 point font, on one side of the paper, with ample margins and double spacing throughout, typewritten on one side of the paper, with ample margins and double spacing throughout, quotations, references and appendices as well as text. If a paper is divided into sections, the introductory one usually requires no heading or number; subsequent sections should be given Roman numerals, and the section heading should be typed in capitals and centred. Headings of subsections should be flush with the left margin.

Tables should be numbered consecutively with Arabic numerals, and a descriptive heading typed above each table. Tables should, as far as possible, be self-explanatory without reference to the text. Small tables may be typed with the text, but large tables should be typed on separate sheets and the position of each table in the text indicated by an instruction such as 'Table 2 here'. Vertical rules should not be used in tables.

General Guidelines for Authors

Papers should be easily readable and should be under 50 pages. If the length of the paper exceeds the page limit, it may be rejected without review. Footnotes, figures, etc., should not be placed at the end.

Authors should take care to motivate their work and to communicate clearly the contribution of the paper. Pages should be numbered. Papers should include an abstract which summarizes the finding of the paper, keywords and complete author affiliations on the title page. Proofs of results should be placed in appendices.

Manuscripts must be in 1-column format. They should be double-spaced and be printable on a standard 8.5 by 11 inch paper, using 1.25 inch margins. Equations should be numbered at the right hand margin. No specific length for a manuscript is required and no page limit is imposed, however manuscripts should be written clearly and concisely. Consistency of spelling must be maintained throughout individual papers. Authors are urged to have one or more colleagues read the manuscript critically prior to submission.
